The 2022 COAA Education Conference will be held May 2-6, 2022, at the Orange Beach Event Center in Orange Beach, AL. Dear COAA Partners, Every year, we look forward to the Annual COAA Education Conference as an opportunity for learning, sharing, fun, and fellowship with other code officials, vendors, and sponsors. While the COAA Board was disappointed to have to cancel the 2020 COAA Education Conference, we are excited to announce that the 2021 Education Conference will be held August 16-20, 2021 @ The Orange Beach Event Center in Orange Beach, AL. We recognize that the circumstances surrounding COVID-19 and the pandemic are fluid and constantly changing, and you can be assured that the COAA Board will work closely with all vendors, exhibitors, partners, and attendees to ensure that this event takes place in the safest ways possible. Our primary concern continues to be the safety and well-being of everyone involved, and we will always make the health and well-being of our members and partners and their families our priority. Much of COAA’s success is due to the support of our sponsors and partners. As a sponsor or exhibitor, you show your support for Alabama’s building and safety community while showcasing your products and networking with code officials, architects, engineers, flood plain managers, and others involved in the construction industry. COAA strives to meet the following goals: To promote maximum safety for life, health, & property at minimum building cost through education and training of code enforcement officials; To create a better public understanding & appreciation of the proper administration of building, housing, plumbing, electrical, & related codes & ordinances, & their importance to the safety, welfare, & prosperity of the municipality & county; To improve the prestige of code enforcement officials by the promotion of high standards of efficiency in the administration of building, housing, plumbing, electrical, & related codes & ordinances through continued education & training; To assemble with other government officials & organized groups concerned with codes & ordinances to exchange ideas & to discuss mutual concerns; To develop courses of instruction concerning new materials & methods of construction in cooperation with recognized education institutions & to promote proper interpretation, enforcement, & administration of codes & ordinances, and To assist Alabama municipalities & counties with the organization & maintenance of adequate code enforcement departments, codes, & ordinances.
