WESTBOROUGH, MA — A Framingham man was arrested Saturday after Westborough police said he struck a police cruiser while under the influence.
Alexander Ramos-Felipe was charged with operating under the influence, unlicensed operation, negligent operation of a motor vehicle, speeding and marked lane violations.
Police said the crash happened around 2 a.m. Westborough officers pulled someone over on Route 9 eastbound near the 80th block of Turnpike Road.
While one officer spoke with the driver a second officer saw a dark-colored Honda sedan, headed straight towards the cruiser with no signs of slowing down, police said. Police said the sedan, driven by Ramos-Felipe, struck an unoccupied police cruiser, causing significant damage to both vehicles.
Police said they brought all occupants, including Ramos-Felipe, to safety before arresting him.
