After 25 year, he's calling it a career at CBS13. I know I'll miss the 25 Dave's of Christmas that he did every year, bringing us the weather from some of the most spectacular light displays in Sacramento. And I actually have his autograph from one of the many charity auctions he emceed over the years. Thank you for getting the weather right more often than not, Dave! You will be missed. (CBS Sacramento) A property owner is suing the City of Sacramento because he alleges the city is allowing homeless camps and trailers to grow in Johnston Park, in north Sacramento. At the same time, he said the city is more responsive to removing camps at parks in wealthier neighborhoods. Daniel Alweiss said the city is turning a blind eye on the issues at this park and he said it comes down to demographics and class. "The city code directly prohibits all of this, what is going on in Johnston Park," Alweiss said. "I'm simply asking for the city to follow its own rules." (FOX40) A driver led Sacramento County Sheriff's Office deputies on a high-speed chase through northern Sacramento on Friday. (FOX40) Two teachers at Hiram Johnson High School were hurt after a large fight between students that led to a lockdown, officials said. "The injuries were not related to any direct physical altercation. The two teachers were evaluated by medics on campus as a precaution, and did not require any additional medical treatment," district spokesperson Hilary McLean said. It is unknown what led to the fight. (KCRA3)Gov. Gavin Newsom on Friday said he had pardoned two members of California Indian tribes coinciding with Native American Heritage Month. The pardons recognize the recipients' "efforts and successes in rehabilitation post-conviction, as well as their extraordinary service to their communities," his office said. Since taking office in 2019, Newsom has granted 88 pardons, 91 commutations, and 29 reprieves.
