City Of Ames: East Lincoln Way Lane Closure Begins Monday

Press release from the City of Ames: 11/19/2021 2:00 PM Beginning Monday, Nov. 22, East Lincoln Way will be reduced to a single eastbound lane from just east of the South Skunk River bridge to the frontage road across from the Bobcat of Ames dealership. This lane closure is needed to allow pavement removal and boring operations for the construction of a sanitary force main along the south side of East Lincoln Way. All side roads and business accesses will remain open during the lane closure. The lane closure and completion of the boring operation is expected to take three weeks. The City of Ames has contracted with Keller Excavating to complete this utilities extension project for the Prairie View Industrial area, which will include sanitary force main, sanitary gravity main, and water main. The new utilities will be constructed through boring and open trenching methods. Motorists are encouraged to be aware of construction in the area and to allow for extra travel time or consider using alternative routes.
