Enjoy a 30-minute “How To” for learning about birds that inhabit Puget Sound with Seattle Audubon! First, we'll practice some bird-watching basics that you can use anywhere. The second half of the session will be focused for drop-in visitors to jump in and spot fall migrants and winter residents. You will also have the chance to learn what you can do to protect and help birds thrive.
Participants are encouraged to bring their own binoculars if you have them; we'll have a few pair on hand to lend as well. There will be one or two spotting scopes on hand for folks to try out. This session is suitable for beginner birders.
Masks are required for all participants. Limited capacity of participants for our "How To" session. The entire session will be held outdoors, so please dress for the weather. Arrive 15mins early for check-in.
Created in partnership with Seattle Audubon:
Seattle Audubon advocates and organizes for cities where people and birds thrive.
Friends of Waterfront Seattle is the City of Seattle’s nonprofit partner helping to build Waterfront Park and ensure its lasting success. Following the public-benefit partnership model, we educate the public about the park and its benefits, raise philanthropic funds to build the park, and will partner with the City to steward, fund, and program the park long term. Our goal is to make the central waterfront a vibrant public mixing ground where all communities can share cultural, recreational, and civic experiences in a beautiful environment.
