The Center for Environmental Management of Military Lands (CEMML) has an open Environmental Compliance Specialist KPSTS position in Oahu, HI. Environmental Compliance Specialist supporting installation natural resource and compliance programs and initiatives for Kaena Point Satellite Tracking Station (KPSTS). Position is located at KPSTS on Oahu, HI. Position provides review of environmental compliance issues, NEPA actions and documents, coordinates and attends stakeholder meetings and recommends natural resource and compliance management activities to Command to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, as well as Air Force Instructions. Required Qualifications: The successful candidate must be legally authorized to work in the United States by proposed start date. CEMML will not provide visa sponsorship for this position. Applicants must have a B.S in biology, environmental science, engineering, or closely related field, plus five years of experience supporting environmental compliance programs. Applicants must be familiar with all aspects of environmental compliance programs, including storage tanks, pollution prevention, solid and hazardous waste and reporting. Proven experience of successfully working collaboratively with stakeholders, such as USFWS and state fish and wildlife agencies. Experience supporting audits and inspections for compliance, permits, variances and notifications. Must have a valid driver’s license or the ability to obtain a driver’s license by the employment start date. Preferred Qualifications: M.S. in biology, environmental science, engineering, conservation or closely related field. An understanding of the NEPA process is beneficial. Experience reviewing and updating NEPA documents is highly desired. Familiarity with natural and cultural resource protection and knowledge of environmental regulations pertaining to Sikes Act, Endangered Species Act and National Historic Preservation Act, Clean Water Act, and compliance laws and regulations. Existing Secret Clearance or clearance held within the past 10 years. Experience providing support to Cultural Resource programs is a plus. Experience preparing briefings and communicating complex information to upper management is helpful. Experience with acquisition, specifically planning, programming, budgeting and execution (PPBE) is useful.
