Cardiovascular Institute of the South is hosting free ankle brachial index screenings on Thurs., December 9th from 2-5 p.m. in Luling Cardiovascular Institute of the South (CIS) is hosting a free ABI screening on Thursday, December 9 from 2-5 p.m. at 107 Maryland Drive in Luling. Guests will receive a complimentary ankle brachial index (ABI) screenings. An ABI is a simple, painless exam used to test the blood flow in the legs to determine risk of vascular disease. Results will be reviewed on site by CIS providers. Risk factors of vascular disease include family history, high cholesterol, high blood pressure and diabetes, as well as smoking, being overweight or being inactive. Refreshments will be provided.
