Presenter BiosRachel Fox has been a poet for as long as she can remember. Born a Southern woman, she speaks with a soft voice guided by grace. Life has given her the kindness of a big, beautiful family, and the joy of true love. Dallas, TX has become the home of her heart's work, and her meditation studio. From this place of privilege, she gives what she has. Her prayers have become her practice, which has become her art. It is her hope that her meditations resonate as yours, too. She is the author of Meditations on Being, a poetry book published in 2020 by Deep Vellum. Sherrie "Candy" Zantea has been writing and performing poetry for over 25 years. Candy made the 2007 Dallas Poetry Slam Team. To date she has been on 13 poetry slam teams and was the first woman to coach eight. She is the current CEO of the Dallas Poetry Slam Organization. In addition, Candy is one of the Lead instructors for the Literary Arts in the DFW School Districts, and she is the current Program Director for The Writer’s Garret and one of the Learning Partners for the Dallas Independent School District. She is the author of Oak Cliff-Hangers, a poetry chapbook published in 2021 by Deep Vellum. Shelby Vincent is a translator, lecturer, and researcher at the Translator Center at UT Dallas. She received her PhD in Literary Translation from the University of Texas at Dallas's School of Arts and Humanities in 2015. She currently teaches courses in Spanish and creative writing. She is the translator of Heavens on Earth, by Mexican writer Carmen Boullosa, published in 2015 by Deep Vellum. Will Evans is the executive director and founder of Deep Vellum, a nonprofit publishing house and literary arts center based in Dallas and founded in 2013.
