Description
Your name is Sophia, you live in the UK. My name is Michael, I'm from Brooklyn. It was your first long haul as a flight attendant since the start of the pandemic. I was coming back from a cousin's wedding in England. I was sitting with my brother and his girlfriend, scrunched near the window. You moved me to the front of my section where I had a whole row to myself. We started talking a little, then you started teasing me for falling asleep (I was jetlagged!). I thought you were cute but I wanted to be respectful, since who wants to be hit on at work? I was reading the whole time, or meditating. At the end of the flight you were asking me about what I was reading -- Naomi Klein's This Changes Everything, about the climate crisis -- and I gave you a patch with the symbol for the activist group Extinction Rebellion. I didn't get your number. Little did I know you slipped your lip-liner into my bag. I only found it three weeks later as I was cleaning up and unpacking from my trip--and here I am writing this.
Would love to get a drink next time you're state-side.
