This is the re-enactor registration page for the public re-enactment of the 1914 Christmas Truce event at Midway Village Museum in Rockford, IL. The event is open to all WWI impressions, but will actively include 1914 German, British/Commonwealth and French impressions. Other impressions are welcome to display items and help with the event. The public presention will take place Saturday, Dec. 14. Re-enactors need to be on site by 8 a.m. for a rehearsal of the public performance. The public starts arriving between 9 and 11 a.m. The performance will be narrated and re-encators will take cues to sing Christmas songs, yell insults, and come out of the trenches for a truce and related activities, including a soccar match in no mans land. After the performance the public is invited to tour the trenches and have a cup of hot chocolate, tea or coffee with the re-enactors. Displays will be set up in each of the 4 bunkers. If people want, they can stay overnight in the bunkers Friday to Saturday if pre-arranged.
