Meet Trooper, a middle aged mixed breed dog looking for a home. Trooper was found as a stray in Southern California and taken to a high kill shelter in Los Angeles. He lived there for a while and wasn’t adopted, when he was about to be euthanized an individual rescue pulled him out. He went to a dog behaviorist for a month and worked on manners and training. Then he was sent to me to find him a home. The good: He’s about 6 years old and 62 pounds. He’s a nice dog that loves to go for walks and car rides. He gets along well with other dogs. He is potty trained and has good general manners. Is is crate trained. He doesn’t mind being pet, but he does not want to cuddle. Relatively low energy dog. Loves to go for walks but will chill in his bed the rest of the day. The bad: he is food aggressive, he has to be fed in his crate alone. He may have been starved in the past, this seems like a deep issue for him. But currently he is fed in his crate and there are no issues. He is fine around my kids, but given the food aggression, I am seeking a home for him with no children. He has been around my dogs, goats, horses, chickens and outside cat without issue. He is up to date on vaccines, flea meds, and has been dewormed and vet checked this week. His adoption/rescue fees have been sponsored. We are just seeking a great home that’s willing to give him a chance. Currently located at my house in cottage grove Oregon. PLEASE Don’t flag this ad. This does not go against community standards.
