The Problem:
Programs addressing food insecurity in many low income neighborhoods have no sustainable market solution and instead rely on giving, which cannot fully address the amount of need. When food insecure individuals do receive financial support, they cannot spend locally because their communities lack the infrastructure to sustain food access.
The Solution:
The involveMINT model provides a means for individuals to earn and spend a local currency within their own communities when funding is not available. These individuals work to build and maintain new food infrastructure to meet the demand not met by traditional funding. This model ultimately becomes a driver of local supply chains for communities to create and retain their own food systems.
The Work:
Software Implementations are required to unlock this economic potential by identifying and connecting needs, offers, and skills of businesses and individuals. The team will work on capture the needs of users (businesses, individuals, and organizations) during the onboarding process. These needs are then matched with the skills and offers of users.
