Join Pigtown Climbs for foliage hunting, plant preservation and conversation on making the outdoors more inclusive ! In Partnership with REI #optoutside initiative. Pigtown Climbs will hiking a ~2.3 mile path at Cylburn Arboretum in Baltimore. Cylburn Arboretum is home to hundreds of tree species, all season gardens, and beautiful trails. The trail will take us through the parks native fall foliage where we will identify and collect our own plant specimen for preservation. Our Director of Operations Bri Horne will guide us through the trail as well as through the process of preserving plants and it’s significance in capturing the change of life throughout time. At the end our walk we will spend time discussing the challenges of historically exclusive outdoor spaces, brainstorming solutions on creating, fostering inclusive spaces and press our collected plants specimen for preservation. We will send an email with exact meeting location to all attendees. THIS IS A FAMILY FRIENDLY HIKE. Optional Fee: $10.00 includes your own plant press and waterproof journal. Power Snacks: Trail mix. Nuts, seeds, nut-based bars or nut butter packs. Dried or freeze-dried fruits and veggies. Energy bars, chews or gels. Granola or granola bars. Ready-made tuna salad pouches. Whole-grain tortillas. Poultry, salmon or meat jerky. Long-johns, wool, fleece, gloves/mittens, hats, Pants. ( Its always good to start out with a couple of layers, Once we get hiking you will mostly likely take a few layers off.)
