Description
Understanding Law from a Biblical and Kingdom Conscious Perspective In this Conclave we will be taking an in-depth look at the often misunderstood topic “Law within the Context of the Kingdom”. The Bible is not a religious document, but a legal one, being divided into two sections called Covenants. One of the greatest obstacles in the church’s understanding of Law is found in its failure to distinguish God’s purpose and intent for the various kinds of law found in scriptures. Many unknowingly adopted a Greco-Roman understanding that is foreign to its Hebraic roots, while imposing Contract principles upon that which truly Covenant! Covenants and Contracts have two very different origins and operate on very different principles. Furthermore, the Bible is filled with legal terminology that cannot be properly understood from a religious perspective. Terms like heirs, adoption, ambassadors, redemption, covenants, commandments, laws, ordinances, statutes, and testaments, which all have distinct legal meanings and purpose within God’s Economy. In addition, we find commingled alongside these terms the religious concepts such as works, and the commandments and traditions of men, which adds to the confusion. Without a legal understanding of these terms and concepts we resort to a religious understanding which serves to remove them from their original and intended context. At this Conclave we will examine the purpose of God’s Covenants and Law in both the Old and New Testament, while answering the Questions: -What are the Commandments? -How do they differ from the Law of Moses? -Why there is no such thing as a Contract with God or a Covenant of Works, as well as, -Why does God only give His Law to those who are already in Covenant with Him, and never strangers! Join me as we gain answers to these and many more questions on this most important topic. Early registration begins on December 21, 2020! Make sure to register early, for we are only taking the first 25 people registered before the doors close. I look forward to seeing you there! Dr. J.C. Matthews
