CLEARWATER, FL — It's called the Suncoast Jazz Festival. But music lovers can expect to hear swing, Big Band, zydeco, blues and other genres when the 31st annual Suncoast Jazz Festival returns to Clearwater through Nov. 21.
The festival will deliver three days of classic jazz interspersed with other genres when the festival gets takes over five indoor venues at the Sheraton Sand Key Resort and Marriott Suites Sand Key in Clearwater where more than 80 musicians will perform.
Headliners include The Brubeck Brothers Quartet, making their first-ever appearance at the festival. They will be joined by the Ed Metz Trio with Rossanno Sportiello and Nikki Parrott, piano legend Dick Hyman and the Al Downing All Stars.
Also on tap is Grammy-nominated Brazilian guitarist Diego Figueiredo along with old friend of the jazz festival Jason Marsalis, Professor Cunningham and His Old School, Cornet Chop Suey, Tom Rigney and Flambeau, and La Lucha. Click here for a complete list of performers.
For more than 30 years, the nonprofit Suncoast Jazz Classic Inc. has been hosting the popular music festival to support young musicians with scholarships and performance opportunities.
The nonprofit has donated nearly $100,000 to youth music programs.
A variety of ticket packages are available for the three-day weekend. Tickets can be purchased online through the festival website.
