ORANGE, CT — Coronavirus cases are on the rise in Connecticut and the region as the holiday season quickly approaches. Gov. Ned Lamont urged residents to get a vaccine booster if it's been more than six months since their last shot.
Orange had 9.7 average daily cases per 100,000 residents and a positive test rate of 2.60 percent between Oct. 31 and Nov. 18, according to the state Department of Public Health. There were 8.2 average daily cases per 100,000 residents in the previous two-week reporting period. It's important to note that a few cases can have a large impact on a municipal case rate, especially for small towns.
Orange recorded 10 new coronavirus cases between Nov. 12 and 18, according to DPH's preliminary data.
Around 74 percent of Orange residents are fully vaccinated against the coronavirus as of Nov. 17, according to DPH.
