Facility Technician SMM Facilities Inc is seeking a Facility Technician to perform specialized, diverse work activities and coordinate solutions, working independently, solely supporting the operations, maintenance, repair, upkeep, inventory tracking, and refurbishing activities related to the physical environment and building systems of the university. This is an individual contributor role. Duties include: Serve as property operations / maintenance point of contact for facilities' issues in assigned building(s), unit(s), lab(s); initiate work requests, monitor completion; manage maintenance and renovations budget; coordinate and monitor routine maintenance services completion (trash, utilities, custodial, pest control, long term preservation, inspections, grounds, landscapes, alarms, systems & equipment). Responsibilities would include: •Performs breakdown services of client’s office cubicles, desks, office equipment, computers, etc.; •Prepares items for transportation or storage. •Loads and unloads vehicles by hand or by use of hand truck or dolly. •Performs installation or re-installation of office cubicles, desks, office equipment, computers, etc. •Pads, stacks, and secures items in position on truck to prevent damage during shipment. •Identify to the Crew Leader any pre-existing or existing damaged prior to loading customers goods. •Delivers and stacks merchandise on customer's premises. •Performs the writing of inventory when necessary. •Assist driver pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles. •Strong Customer Services Skills •Attention to Detail Knowledge and Skills •Knowledge of using hand tools •Works well with others and follows guidelines •Be able to pass criminal background requirements •Comply with company safety policies and procedures •Professional, precise and detail oriented •Handyman Skills (light electrical/plumbing/carpentry/painting) Education and Work Experience •High School Diploma or GED preferred •Facility Services - Minimum 4+ years’ experience •Full-Time: Monday – Friday: 6:00am-2:30pm
