Description
Immediately hiring a Facilities Assistant to join the maintenance staff of our busy synagogue and growing community. This is an hourly, part-time position (Thursday - Sunday), based in San Francisco. Must be available to work evenings.
This position works with all other staff and departments to ensure the efficient set-up and break-down of events, and that the building is clean, safe, and welcoming for congregants and the community.
Key Responsibilities:
- Set-up and break-down of all daytime and evening programs, including services, receptions, meetings, and school events
- Clean and stock restrooms
- Empty garbage cans throughout the buildings
- Vacuum, mop and dust all rooms, stairways, and courtyard
- Clean and sanitize toys and mats after each toddler program
- Thoroughly clean and sanitize kitchen
- Weekly deep-cleaning of all indoor and outdoor facilities
- Help prepare and serve food, and clean up after services, meetings, and special programs
Physical Demands & Requirements:
- Must be able to reach overhead, grasp, push, and pull objects, move and lift up to 50 lbs
- Available to work weekends and evenings
- Must be alert regarding the security of the building and must immediately report any suspicious activity to the Executive Director and/or senior staff
- Maintain good personal hygiene and adhere to dress code
- Follow all Cal/OSHA workplace safety standards, including protocols to reduce exposure and transmission of COVID-19
- Food handler card a plus
Compensation:
$18.50/hr
