NEW LONDON, CT — Police Chief Brian Wright has been reinstated to his position after an investigation cleared him of sexual harassment allegations, according to a statement from the city. A statement released by the city reads: "The independent investigation into the complaint and allegations made against the Chief of Police while he was a Captain has been completed. "Upon being notified by the outside legal investigator as to his findings and conclusions, Mayor Michael E. Passero has immediately reinstated Chief Brian M. Wright to full duty this afternoon." The report from the investigation by Attorney Michael J. Rose states that "Then Captain Wright did not sexually harass (redacted) as that term is defined under law." The investigation also found "no evidence at all to support the contention that Captain Wright retaliated against (redacted) through his adverse findings in the (redacted) investigation." Wright was put on administrative leave with pay Oct. 6. While Wright was on administrative leave, Passero had appointed Neville A. Brooks as interim Superintendent of Police.
