Starts Wednesday, January 20th (Wednesdays, from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. for 6 weeks.) Starts Wednesday, January 20th (Wednesdays, from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. for 6 weeks.) NOTE: This series will be a hybrid class, with a choice of learning remotely from your home, or working in our studio live with the help of an assistant teacher, while the head instructor teaches via ZOOM. Learn from the master painters, such as Edward Hopper, Vincent Van Gogh and Fairfield Porter. Sometimes the best way to learn is to "apprentice" from master painters of the past. In the process of copying these magnificent works of art, you can learn the nuances that the artists themselves explored. This class will use acrylic paints and is guaranteed to raise your understanding of what creates a good painting, from composition to color mixing and line work. Throughout the six weeks, you'll advance your technical understanding, value relationships, and brushwork such as glazing and proper mixing techniques. Great for beginners or intermediate painters. Non-members: $195 for 6 weeks. Members: $156. Fee does not include materials. A list of recommended supplies can be emailed upon request.
