BELLMORE, NY — Throughout the month, Patch is asking readers to share who they're grateful for. Bellmore resident Donna Coughlin thanks her father's neighbor, who shows that the "little things mean a lot." Here's the message she shared: My WWII veteran Dad lives next door to a wonderful person who puts his newspaper on the front steps, so he doesn't have to go up and down the stairs to get it off the lawn. She does this in all types of weather. My sisters, my Dad and I appreciate her kindness and thank her every time we see her, but she humbly says it's no bother. She is a blessing.
