ROUND ROCK, TX — Before you stuff yourselves on turkey and stuffing, go for a run at the 5th annual Fleet Feet Round Rock Turkey Trot on Thanksgiving Day. The run, hosted by the city of Round rock and the parks and recreation department, challenges families, friends and co-workers to come out and run on the roads through the scenic Old Settlers Park. The race will feature an untimed 2-mile and 5-mile run/walk at the park around 8 a.m. and 8:15 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 25. It's $20 to register for the race. Participants must register by Nov. 24. Proceeds from the race will be shared between the Round Rock Serving Center, Operation Blue Santa and the Play for All Abilities Park. The Round Rock Serving Center will be at the race to take any non-perishable food donations, officials said. Bibs and medals are available for pick up during normal business hours at Fleet Feet Round Rock, 3750 Gattis School Rd. Suite 500. Packet pickup is from noon to 6:30 p.m. on Nov. 23-24. The race will be capped at 2500 people for the safety of all participants. Officials said participants will all receive a turkey medal.
