NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ — The New Brunswick Free Public Library, in collaboration with the New Brunswick Cultural Center Inc., will present a hybrid Multicultural Festival on Saturday, December 4, from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. The program will be held in person in the library's Carl T. Valenti Community Room as well as virtually via Zoom. Registration is required to attend either in-person or online. Register at https://tinyurl.com/7scd9ffv. "Through the Multicultural Festival, we are celebrating the diversity of our community. We are encouraging appreciation for and educating attendees about the rich heritage of other countries. Cultural awareness is important to our community because of the variety of people and customs that interact on a daily basis." On Dec. 4, they will be celebrating New Year celebrations from Hungary, China, the Caribbean, Mexico, India, United States and many more. The festivities will begin at 2:00 p.m. with different crafts and displays representing different cultures. There will be music and dance performances by percussion performer Ujimma, the Navrang Dance Academy, Joe Yung's Dream Cats Dance Group, the American Hungarian Foundation and La Sagrada Familia folk dance group from Holy Family Parish. In addition, a variety of international food and delicacies will be provided to take home with you. Masks are required during the in-person program. Please come join us for this wonderful, family-friendly community event, which is free and open to the public of all ages. This program has been organized in conjunction with the New Brunswick Cultural Center, Inc. The mission of New Brunswick Cultural Center is to stimulate the cultural development and economic growth of the arts and entertainment in New Brunswick. Additional sponsors are the American Hungarian Foundation, Navrang Dance Academy and Holy Family Parish. Their food sponsor is Bikanervala Edison. Grant funding has been provided by the Middlesex County Board of Chosen Freeholders and the New Jersey State Council on the Arts, a division of Department of State.
