ORLANDO, FL — Former New York Jets running back Zac Stacy is charged with aggravated battery and criminal mischief after video surfaced this week of him hitting the mother of his child before throwing her into a television, all while the young child sat nearby.
Stacy, 30, was arrested by Orlando police and booked into an Orange County Jail on Thursday, inmate records show. His total bond for both charges has been set at $10,150, according to those records.
TMZ Sports first broke the news, which included video of Stacy hitting Kristin Evans, the mother of his child, before throwing her into a television while their child sat just feet away from the altercation.
Photos sent to the publication from Evans show intense bruising, and she said that what many saw on video wasn't an isolated incident. The report said Stacy fled the apartment after the beating, but later flew from Nashville back to Florida to turn himself in.
Stacy, who hails from Centreville, Alabama, was drafted in the 5th round of the 2013 NFL Draft by the St. Louis Rams after a career at Vanderbilt.
He played in 35 career games over three seasons, one of which came with the Jets, where he played sparingly across 8 games, rushing 31 times for a total of 89 yards and one touchdown.
