ROMEOVILLE, IL — Several area businesses recently worked together to help solve staffing issues, and also donate money to Guardian Angels, a nonprofit in Joliet.
It has been a struggle for all employers in finding people to work, Ashley Floyd, Human Resources supervisor at Chicago Tube & Iron in Romeoville told Patch.
The company started a partnership with PrideStaff, a staffing agency in Lockport, for external assistance in finding employees.
"While we have the agency helping us find candidates, we also had our business neighbor, Nanophase [in Romeoville] reach out to the neighborhood community that they were in need of an agency who would recruit for a specialized position [of] production operators," Floyd said.
Floyd referred Nanophase to PrideStaff, and the position was able to be filled within a week. Floyd said PrideStaff has a client referral program in place, so Chicago Tube & Iron received a $100 donation check to their charity of choice.
The business decided to donate to Guardian Angels in Joliet, and also added their own contribution of $1,500 to go to the nonprofit.
