NEWTOWN, PA — The Newtown Township Police Department responded to the following incidents between Nov. 11 and Nov. 17. Read the details, as reported by the police. Thursday, Nov. 11 8:45 a.m. — A Newtown resident went to police headquarters to report that someone fraudulently withdrew $9,000 from her bank account. The bank is investigating. Saturday, Nov. 13 11 a.m. — Someone from Wrightstown came to police headquarters to report a forged check incident. Police are investigating. Monday, Nov. 15 2 p.m. — Police received a report of a postal theft. An investigation is ongoing. 3 p.m. — A Newtown resident contacted police to report a forged check. An investigation is ongoing. Tuesday, Nov. 16 9:30 a.m. — A Newtown resident contacted police to report a forged check. An investigation is ongoing. 11 a.m. — Police saw someone in Wrightstown taking the Newtown Township Police Department's ENRADD Speed Timing device and putting it in the back of their Ford pick-up truck. As a result of the investigation, the person was arrested and charged with theft by unlawful taking and receiving stolen property. He was transported to Northampton Township Police Department for processing and was arraigned by Judge Seaman. Bail was set at 10 percent of $100,000, and the subject was sent to Bucks County Corrections. Wednesday, Nov. 17 12:30 p.m. — A Newtown Township resident contacted police to report a forged check incident. An investigation is ongoing. 1:45 p.m. — Police were dispatched for the report of a counterfeit five-dollar bill that was passed at a Newtown business. An investigation is ongoing. 4 p.m. — Police were dispatched to Second Street Pike and Swamp Road for a report of a two-vehicle traffic accident. Upon contact with one of the drivers, the officer detected the strong odor of an alcoholic beverage. As a result of the investigation, the person was placed under arrest for suspicion of driving under the influence. Charges are pending blood evidence results.
