NASHUA, NH — A local coffee shop is having to deal with smoke damage after a fire on Friday.
Just after 4:30 a.m., Nashua firefighters were sent to the Starbucks on Gusabel Avenue for an alarm activation. When Engine 5 arrived, firefighters found "the building filled with smoke," according to Deputy Chief Glen MacDonald. Firefighters, he said, forced entry to the building and established a water supply from a nearby hydrant.
"The companies entered the building and found a fire under the counter," he said. "The fire was quickly extinguished. There was smoke damage throughout the building."
A Nashua fire marshal and the city board of health responded to the scene. MacDonald said there were no injuries.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
