The starting pay range for this position begins at $17.64/hour and is based on the level of qualifications and relevant experience above the minimum requirements. 1st shift hours are generally 6:00am - 2:30pm The position is scheduled to work most days of the week with every other weekend off, but this is negotiable depending on the preference of the candidate and the need of the department. 2nd shift hours are generally 2:00pm - 10:30pm This position receives a 2nd shift pay differential of $1.25/hour. (Base pay of $17.64 + 2nd shift differential $1.25 = $18.89/hour) The Maintenance Engineer II position will be responsible for repairs, and maintenance, upkeep and operations of materials, supplies and components of the Inn. The Maintenance Engineer II will be working on interior and exterior projects that include plumbing, painting, carpentry, minor electrical and HVAC work; and will also assist in other areas of Maintenance as assigned, such as preventative maintenance of Inn public areas and guest rooms. The Maintenance Engineer II will work with an Engineering team focused on the exceptional service of the Guests of the Inn on Biltmore Estate. PT & FT openings available! Requirements: 1. High school diploma required. Additional training/education and certification in carpentry, plumbing, electrical, or other trade preferred. 2. Minimum two (2) years of experience in commercial plant operations and mechanics, preferably in an upscale hotel/resort/facility setting. 3. Demonstrated commitment to delivering world class internal/external guest service. 4. Experience with carpentry, plumbing and building mechanical systems (electrical, etc.); can read construction drawings, blueprints and schematics. Math skills a must. 5. Working knowledge of: carpentry, cabinetry, decorating, and vinyl; proper chemical handling and disposal; mechanical and electrical/safety systems construction method; power and hand tools, meters, etc. 6. Excellent verbal and written communication skills; must be able to provide clear and concise directions and instructions, and interact professionally with staff and guests. 7. Strong planning/organizational skills; can prioritize work, multi-task, and adapt. 8. Handles a variety of internal and external guest issues in a professional manner. 9. Proactive and exercises good judgment; troubleshoots and problem solves. 10. Keen attention to detail with focus on quality and service. 11. Must have a valid NC Driver's License with clean driving record & be at least 18 years of age. To apply: Full Time - Part Time -
