Description
BURR RIDGE, IL — Burr Ridge police responded to two house burglaries in recent weeks, but they released little information in response to a public records request.
About 10:30 p.m. on Halloween, officers responded to an alarm at a house in the 6900 block of Fieldstone Drive, southwest of County Line and Plainfield roads. They found open front and back doors, but the police did not indicate whether anything was stolen, according to a report.
Another report stated that a house in the 11200 block of 72nd Street was burglarized between Oct. 21 and Nov. 4 while the residents were on vacation. It is just southeast of Wolf Road and Interstate 55. No other details were available.
The police said they could not give the full police reports because the burglaries were still under investigation.
In the summer, the police department curtailed the amount of information it released to the media about crime in town. Officials said it was a result of a change in systems. The department previously distributed a blotter to media that was among the most extensive in the area.
The police now give an online listing of the types of crimes and their times and locations. The latest information was posted Nov. 11.
