Warehouse Associate Position Description – Tessman Company Reports to: Branch Manager Company Vision • To be the best customer service distributor for the “Green Industry” in the Upper Midwest • To become the “First Call” for all our customers Position Overview This position is responsible for carrying out the logistics of receiving, processing, storing and sending inventory according to purchase orders and shipping schedules. Their duties include loading orders onto trucks and other vehicle types, organizing incoming stock and putting the appropriate labels on outgoing parcels. Warehouse Daily Operations • Provide our customers with prompt, friendly and professional service. • Shipping and receiving product, loading, unloading and all other warehouse tasks. • Adhere to quality control processes to ensure shipping and receiving accuracy. • Receiving, documenting and labeling product for delivery or return • Identifying any missing, lost or damaged product(s) and immediately notifying branch leadership • Operating within a safe and organized work environment that is compliant with all safety procedures. We respect and abide by all OSHA regulations. • Organize and maintain the inventory of necessary warehouse operational supplies. • Communicate/coordinate with inside sales personnel to ship orders each day. • Routine daily cleaning and facility maintenance. Inventory Control • Responsible for participating in annual inventory counts and periodic cycle counts. • Maintain our Bin Location system with a high level of accuracy. • Follow up on shortage and damage claims with trucking companies. • Minimize damaged inventory and miss-shipments. Isolate and repair/repackage damaged products as soon as possible. • Organize inventory based on seasonality and product movement. Preferred Experience/Skills • Prior experience working in a warehouse or distribution center environment • Knowledge of safe and efficient Forklift operation • Ability to work on your feet for 8+ hours and carry loads of up to 80 pounds • Ability to work independently and safely.
