Description

Dear Craigslist visitor, We are a research team from Harvard Medical School doing research on how to help patients make sense of their medical records. We are evaluating a patient facing iPhone application called Discovery that visualizes a patient’s medical records collected from multiple providers and allows the patient to organize them in a way most suitable for them. This should help patients make sense of their medical data and organize it for raising health awareness, reflection and clinical visits. We will need many different users to evaluate this application, including healthy individuals, those with a history of illness, or those with at least one chronic condition. If you are interested in tracking, logging and organizing your health data, you may be able to help us build a better application that would ultimately help many others. The study will be done remotely, so you can do it from your home! We will NOT use your medical data for the study. The study will involve two separate 60 min sessions conducted in one or two different days, based on your preference: In the first session (Session 1), you will be asked to use Discovery for data exploration and answer some health-related questions for a fake patient and provide feedback about your experience using the application. In the second session (Session 2), you will be asked to use Discovery to organize the data from the same fake patient and annotate them based on different use case scenarios. After this, you will be asked about your experience using the application. If you are interested, please respond to us and we can provide more detailed information about the study. If you qualify and agree to participate, you will be compensated with a $40 Amazon Gift Card. Looking forward to working with you! Kind regards, Drashko Nakikj, PhD Postdoctoral Research Fellow Department of Biomedical Informatics Harvard Medical School [email protected]
