Description
"Yacht rock is a broad music style and aesthetic commonly associated with soft rock, one of the most commercially successful genres from the mid-1970s to the mid-1980s."
This genre has exploded into popularity with all ages if you didn't know. Do a quick google search for yacht rock tribute bands and you'll find many across the country that regularly play to large crowds.
I'm an experienced guitarist that just moved back to the area. I usually play in hard rock original bands, but I love the idea of doing a yacht rock tribute band. We could easily get shows at bars, make a little bit of money, and have a lot of fun doing it.
If you're into Steely Dan, Earth Wind and Fire, Fleetwood Mac, etc. I'm interested in doing a weekly jam where we can get to learn a catalogue of yacht rock and 70s/80s songs, we can throw in some blues stuff for fun too I think. This is about having fun playing music with responsible, nice, solid bandmates.
I'm in my early 30s, and I'm up for playing with just about any solid musician that is into this idea.
