Living with a chronic condition or caring for someone with a chronic condition? Are you or a loved one living with a Chronic Condition? Clackamas County Social Services is offering a free, six week zoom workshop series plus an introductory session on how to feel your best when living with a chronic condition. Caregivers and individuals welcome! The workshop series will offer you tools to manage your own condition or that of a loved one. Class facilitators do not give advice, rather share the tools and techniques to help you and others participants find hope and useful options for feeling better while living with a chronic condition. You decide what tools are best for you! The Introductory class along with 6 interactive workshops occur on Tuesdays once a week for seven weeks starting January 11, 2022. The first introductory class on 1/11/22 is from 10-11am and the six following interactive workshops will be held from10:00 am - 12:30 pm. Our final session will be February 22, 2022. Attendees learn about self-management choices to help fight fatigue, problem solve, make decisions, develop action plans, eat wisely, manage stress and learn tips to improve communication with family and health care providers. Advocating for yourself is essential! This course will help you gain skills and confidence to better manage your health and outlook on life! Introductory class and Zoom workshop dates: January, 11 - February 22, 2022 Participants are encouraged to attend all workshops to get the full benefit. Tuesday, January 11, 2022 10 :00 am - 11:00 am - Introduction class Tuesdays, January 18 - February 22, 2022 10:00 am – 12:30 pm (weekly workshops) Attendees receive a free copy of Living a Healthy Life with Chronic Conditions and other useful tools to support your journey to healthy living. We lead the community in volunteer activities that assist seniors, people with disabilities, and residents lacking resources and in need of social services. Staff and volunteers work together to foster opportunities for residents to access services so they can live healthier, more socially connected lives and continue to live independently. Our volunteers are critical in delivering and providing supplementary services to Clackamas County residents.
