Description

Comedy as a Second Language is an amazing stand up comedy showcase featuring immigrant and first-generation comedians Comedy as a Second Language is back at Busboys and Poets Takoma! Join us the 3rd Thursday of the month for live stand up comedy with hilarious immigrant and first generation comedians. Nov. 18th we have Rola Z, Shounak Vale, Carol Zoccoli and Umar Khan Comedy as a Second Language is a live, interactive comedy show that features immigrants and first generation comedians. Lots of fun with our comics as they share stories and jokes about their lives, families, multiple cultures and their relationship with their new home. In an era of increasing divisiveness, where people stoke fears of “the other”, Comedy as a Second Language seeks to humanize immigrants and, by joking about our differences, to remind us of our similarities. CSL gives a platform to voices that aren’t normally heard, talking about experiences that might not otherwise be shared. This show was created in partnership between Carol Zoccoli and Kim Levone, produced in parallel in Toronto and Washington DC, as well as on zoom as part of Immigrant Stories. See more about the show here. Note: With all live performance, there is a chance for last minute adjustments to the line-up. We always strive to bring you the best performers for a great show. We appreciate you and look forward to making you laugh! Need to laugh?  You are in the right place!  Improbable Comedy puts on live, stand-up comedy shows in Silver Spring.  We bring the best local and national performers for a great show every time.  Check us out at www.improbablecomedy.com
