An upbeat talk about how to empower yourself on the cancer journey from a patients’ perspective.  Carolyn Taylor, a beloved Unity of Houston congregant, is a 3-time ovarian cancer survivor who shares commonalities about the physical, mental, emotional and spiritual journey.  She speaks openly about the challenges and new practices she follows to live with joy despite still having stage 3 cancer. Discover how to thrive. It can be done!  Suggested Love Offering: $10 (no one left out) About Carolyn Taylor: Carolyn spent the majority of her career avoiding time sitting at a desk. She achieved this goal by working for U.S. Army Intelligence for over a decade as an analyst specializing in land mine warfare. Her first trip abroad was to Camp Doha in Kuwait after Desert Storm. When she returned safely and didn’t complain about the conditions, the Army continued to send her abroad for land mine remediation analysis around the world. Carolyn traveled to Ethiopia, Eritrea, Zimbabwe, Mozambique, South Africa, and Namibia during her time with the Army Intelligence. In fear of becoming bored, answering phones, and eating cafeteria food, Carolyn accepted a position at the United Nations in New York as Chief of the Mine Clearance Unit where she raised $15 million dollars for the clearance programs worldwide. Travels for her work at the UN took her to Bosnia, Cambodia, Laos, Afghanistan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, and occasionally New Jersey. Carolyn has one master’s degree (M.L.S) from Case Western Reserve University and another from the George Washington University School of Public Health.
