The First Annual MarMo Pitch Competition is a life sciences/biotech-based pitch competition to be held March 10, 2022 The First Annual MarMo Pitch Competition is a life sciences/biotech-based pitch competition. Five teams (individuals accepted) will pitch an original tech-centered business idea to a panel of business experts and an audience of entrepreneurs, small business owners, potential investors, students, business and community leaders on March 10, 2022, in Galveston, Texas. Application Deadline: December 31, 2021The objective of the event is to foster the development of viable and successful locally grown biotech companies. The event will be in-person, as well as broadcasted via YouTube and other platforms. Award:$20,000 will be awarded to the competition winners. 1st Place: $10,0002nd Place: $6,0003rd Place: $4,000Sponsored by the McClure Innovation Fund. Apply Here Competition Rules:1. Submissions may be entered as individuals or teams. 2. The maximum number of team members for a single pitch is limited to 10 persons. 3. Each individual or team may enter only one idea or concept. 4. Pitch competitors may participate on only one team. 5. Only the pitching individual or the pitching members of a team may pitch to the panel of judges or answer questions from the judges and/or audience. 6. The pitch competition is open only to individuals who are Galveston County residents. 7. The pitched idea or concept must be the original work of the individual or team pitching it. Ideas and concepts deemed by The Cannon Organizing Committee to be deceptive, insincere, offensive, immoral, or unethical may be screened and disqualified. Pitch Structure Five (5) minutes are allocated to each team’s pitch with five (5) minutes allocated to Q & A with the judges. In total, each individual or team pitching will have 10 minutes maximum; 5 minutes to pitch the idea or concept and 5 minutes to answer questions from judges and get valuable feedback, then there will be 5 minutes allocated for judges to deliberate.
