Done with this dictionary? Bored with that book? Want to recycle that reference? Pass on a periodical? Let’s bring them all to the Holiday Book Swap to celebrate the season of giving (and taking)! You can socialize with colleagues, pass on items from your personal library that you don’t need anymore, and maybe pick up other gently used titles that you can’t live without. Swappable items are not restricted to Tech Comm references. Bring a book to participate in the book swap – it’s lots of fun. In fact, several people brought multiple books at our previous event so they could swap multiple books. The Society for Technical Communication (STC) advances technical communication as the discipline of transforming complex information into usable content for products, processes, and services. STC is the world's largest professional organization for people involved in technical communication. The North Texas Lone Star Chapter (NTLSC) draws members from all over the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex area. We are writers, editors, graphic artists, web content managers, as well as usability experts, consultants, information managers, educators, and students. We work in many industries including telecommunications, software, semiconductor, financial, medical, and transportation. The community provides leadership and direction for its members and promotes professional growth through meetings, workshops, seminars, conferences, mentoring, and networking.
