Description
We are excited to offer this one-day summit to help lay the foundation for the components needed for effective family-school partnerships. As part of the work of the New Hampshire Scholastic Center for Authentic Family Voice, we are pleased to feature Dr. Karen Mapp, Ed.D., Senior Lecturer on Education at the Harvard Graduate School of Education and the author of the U.S. Department of Education's Dual Capacity-Building Framework for Family-School Partnerships. She is a leading family and community engagement expert whose research and practice over the past 20 years have been devoted to cultivating partnerships among schools, families, and communities that enhance student achievement and school performance. Learn from districts who have been implementing the work and participate in breakout sessions designed to give you new strategies to strengthen the connection between family engagement and student learning and new practices to increase student achievement. Whether you are a district or building-level leader, parent or community leader, or part of a family organization, there will be something for everyone. Our breakout sessions will include: Utilizing Data to Evaluate Your Family Engagement EffortsReworking Your CommunicationFrom Blase to Brilliant: Re-purposing Your Back to School NightClimate Change: Let's Make It HappenFor the biggest impact, you are encouraged to bring a team! The summit is at no cost to attendees. Breakfast and lunch are included on the day of the summit. Attendees are responsible for their own reservations which can be made by phone at 800-622-6455 or via www.millfalls.com.
