STOP THE BLEED is a basic bleeding control course that teaches you simple steps to save an injured person until 911 arrived. STOP THE BLEED is one of our nation's largest public health campaigns designed to encourage bystanders to become trained, equipped, and empowered to help in a bleeding emergency before professional help arrives. Its goal is to save lives by training people across the country how to stop traumatic bleeding. Participants will learn to: Recognize signs of uncontrolled bleeding.Describe the progressive strategy for controlling bleeding.Take appropriate actions while waiting for emergency responders to arrive.Apply direct pressure and wound packing using hemostatic dressing on open bleeding wounds.Apply tourniquet correctly on wounded extremities. Classroom Settings: All participants need to wear a mask.Practice social distancing.We will provide gloves for the hands-on skill portion. The Oak Grove Training Room is across the visitor parking garage structure.
