Associates Insectary has immediate openings for full-time insect rearing workers at its Santa Paula facility. Individuals with practical experience working in production nursery or commercial greenhouse operations or in husbandry settings working with large numbers of animals will possess many of the skills required for this position. Duties vary daily and can include: planting and watering plants, preparing and cleaning rearing rooms, collecting and packaging insects, and releasing insects in local orchards. Helpful, but not required, is educational coursework in the life sciences in order to better understand the rearing cycles of the various species grown here. Applicants should be dependable, detail oriented and comfortable working in typical commercial greenhouse and insectary work environments, it can be hot and dirty work. This position is 40 hours per week with some over-time and occasional weekend work. We are looking for full-time employees, but will consider part-time applicants D.O.E. This position offers competitive pay and very generous medical and retirement benefits for full-time employees. All applicants must possess a valid CA Driver’s License and be insurable.
