No matter what genre it is, your child deserves to explore their voice freely, and with curiosity. The ukulele is THE easiest string instrument to begin for anyone in any age range. I have taught adults, toddlers, and seniors how to pick up and get going with the ukulele. It can feel so freeing to let loose and sing without worry of the complex nuances, finger strength and maintenance that guitars might require from you. We can play any style on the ukulele, it’s not just relaxing happy songs. We can get dark and deep, we can be soulful and tell a story, we can even get a little country if that’s what you are into. I know that all genres of music can touch a personal space in each of our lives. There is no bad genre, only non-authentic playing. I’ve taught almost all genres of music on the ukulele, including K-pop songs and even hiphop! This is one of the most versatile and portable instruments known in our current history. I even play middle eastern music on it! It all comes from being alert with pushing your current level of techniques while exploring music that has meaning to YOU I have a step by step method developed to take your child out of their comfort zone and into the expansive world of musical expression, while exploring music that they like!
