A Time of Encouragement for Pastors in Birmingham & Beyond Join us for a time of encouragement for local pastors with Mark Dever, Senior Pastor of Capitol Hill Baptist Church and President of 9Marks, a ministry dedicated to equipping church leaders with a biblical vision and practical resources for building healthy churches. The event is for pastors, but you are free to bring your church elders, staff, and/or interns. This FREE gathering is hosted by the staff of Iron City Church, which meets in the historic Southside Baptist Church in downtown Birmingham, AL. There will be coffee, refreshments, free parking, singing, and book giveaways. Lunch is not provided, but there are a ton of great local restaurants within walking distance. Deadline to register is December 17. A Duke graduate, Mark holds a M.Div. from Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary, a Th.M. from The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary, and a Ph.D. in Ecclesiastical History from Cambridge University. He is the president of 9Marks and has taught at a number of seminaries. Mark has authored several books and articles, including Nine Marks of a Healthy Church (4th Edition). He and his wife Connie live and minister on Capitol Hill. They have two adult children. Event Host: Isaac Adams (M.Div, Southern Seminary) serves as the Lead Pastor of Iron City Church in Birmingham, AL. He is the founder of United? We Pray—a ministry devoted to praying about racial strife, especially between Christians, and the author of Talking About Race: Gospel Hope for Hard Conversations (forthcoming from Zondervan in January 2022). He is married to Megan and has three young children.
