What are the mathematical principles behind how living things move? Why do they move the way they move? NATURE MOVESWhat are the mathematical principles behind how living things move? Are there patterns in their movement as individuals or in a group? What is the mathematical nature of the wind, water and the sounds we hear when we are out among the trees?FREE.Children of all genders and abilities ages 6-10 years old.Lead by volunteer educator, Brian Rudnick.Space is limited.Brian has opted to teach this class for free. Future classes may be $5 per child. Please bring a mask to wear when closer than 6 feet from others outdoors. Registration opens a week in advance of the program. Questions? If you wish to opt out, please let us know before the program. The Wissahickon Environmental Center provides environmental education to adults, children, and families, throughout Philadelphia and vicinity, through public and school and group programming. As part of Philadelphia Parks and Recreation, we also "advance the prosperity of our city and the progress of her people through intentional and sustained stewardship of public land and waterways as well as through safe, stimulating recreation, environmental and cultural centers. We help Philadelphia and its citizens grow by connecting people to the natural world, to each other, and to fun, physical and social opportunities." Summer camp registration for 2021 is closed. We anticipate registration for summer 2022 to open February/March 2022. Covid-19 protocols and precautions include, but are not limited to: Tree House and bathrooms are closed to public, reduced group sizes, masks, temperature checks, and distancing for all, programs are outdoors/all weather, registration forms must be complete to join any programing, sanitizer available, touched surfaces sanitized, and more as we comply to additional best practices.
