Here are the top stories in Spokane today: Another Spokane business started requiring proof of vaccination to dine in and the move received an initial flood of backlash online. Despite the negative commentary online after reopening with the vaccine mandate, Boots Bakery and Lounge owner Allison Collins said the restaurant was busy this weekend. The community showed up to support the business both in-person and online. Collins is supporting her unvaccinated customers as well. Boots has an open tab for coffee across the street at Saranac Commons for unvaccinated customers to have a place to sit. St. Ann's Catholic Church in Spokane's East Central neighborhood has stepped up in an effort to help those from several eastern African countries by saying a Mass in Swahili on the first Sunday of every month. The monthly Mass isn't just said in Swahili. It reflects the culture of the people who speak the language, which means there's a lot of praising, singing, and dancing.
