WHAT IS THE ROLE? As a custodian, you are responsible for maintaining a clean and safe campus by completing a variety of cleaning and organizational tasks. This position is a full time position with a requirement to work the occasional night/weekend. The daily hours are from 12pm - 8pm, with some responsibilities happening while students and staff are on campus and others happening after student and staff have left for the day. Your duties include: Performing general cleaning duties of 20 classrooms and 5 offices, including sweeping and mopping floors, cleaning windows, cleaning and restocking all student and faculty restrooms, cleaning drinking fountains and white boards, removing trash and recycling Responding to emergency cleanups of various substances during the school day When applicable unlock doors, disable alarm system, ensure that the air conditioning/heater turns on, turn on lights, perform a quick safety inspection Performing floor work to include stripping and waxing floors, sealing floors on a quarterly basis Performing small handyman duties (replace light bulbs, clean inside air filters, paint, assemble furniture, etc) Ensure that the grounds are clean and orderly, free of leaves and trash Other duties as assigned IS THIS YOU? Knowledge of various cleaning products and when to use them Knowledge of safety guidelines when working with chemical cleaners Great organizational and communication skills You are a team player and are willing to support staff and students as needs arise.
