Triple Lane Closure Planned Overnight On Capital Beltway

TYSONS, VA — A triple lane closure is planned Friday night into early Saturday on the Capital Beltway in the Tysons area, according to the Virginia Department of Transportation. The three left lanes of southbound Interstate 495 (Capital Beltway Outer Loop) will be closed over the Dulles Toll Road (Route 267) for bridge work. The lane closures will happen from 11 p.m. Friday, Nov. 19 to 7 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 20. At least one lane will remain open at all times. Ramps from southbound I-495 to westbound Dulles Toll Road (Exit 45A) to eastbound Route 267 (Exit 45B) will remain open. Other traffic impacts nearby are ramp closures at I-66 interchanges for the Transform 66 Outside the Beltway Project work. At the I-495/66 interchange, the ramps from northbound I-495 to westbound and eastbound I-66 will be closed 10:30 p.m.on Friday, Nov. 19 to 6 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 20 for bridge pier work. Traffic heading to westbound I-66 will be directed to continue north to Route 7 (Leesburg Pike), stay to the right to southbound I-495 and follow signs for westbound I-66. Traffic going to eastbound I-66 will continue north to eastbound Route 7 (Leesburg Pike), continue for a mile and follow signs for eastbound I-66. Drivers can find other upcoming traffic impacts at I-66 interchanges on the Transform Outside the Beltway Project website. Work is weather permitting.
