NEW LONDON, CT — In early October, New London Mayor Michael E. Passero placed Police Chief Brian M. Wright on administrative leave with pay pending an internal investigation regarding a complaint lodged against Wright.
Thursday, Passero said the "independent investigation into the complaint and allegations made against the Chief of Police while he was a Captain has been completed."
Passero "immediately reinstated Chief Brian M. Wright to full duty," after the findings and conclusions were made available, a statement from the Mayor's office reads.
The complaint that temporarily removed Wright from his post was a sexual harassment accusation from when he was police captain, according to the investigators' letter to the city.
"Please be advised that I have completed my investigation and conclude the following:
1. Then Captain Wright did not sexually harass _____________ as that term is defined under law; and
2. There is no evidence at all to support the contention that Captain Wright "retaliated" against ______________through his adverse findings in the ___________ investigation.
