It’s with heavy hearts that we need to find a new home for our pup Olive, a 3.5 year old terrier mix. We adopted her 3 years ago from the SPCA and she has been both a lovely companion and also has some challenging pieces to her behavior/personality. We believe Olive was separated too early from her mom. She is leash aggressive, and can be protective at unpredictable times. While we have seen big improvements with consistent training and support, managing her is simply too stressful for us. After having our baby this May, it became clear that Olive is not the best fit for a home with young children. We are hoping to find Olive her forever home, someone preferably who has no other dogs, cats (she does well with our cat now, but still has to be watched) or young children. We feel that Olive would do best in a rural/country setting because being around other dogs while on leash is very stressful to her. Olive bonds deeply to her owners, is the most loving companion, and she needs an attentive human who wants to support her. Fun things about Olive are that she fetches and does a variety of tricks. She is very smart and athletic and can hike for miles—she would LOVE to work on agility course training! She has been known to catch a gopher or two and will alert you when anyone comes to your home. Her days are spent lounging in the sun and she puts herself to bed in her crate every night around 8pm. She has never torn up/damaged anything in our home. She is spayed and up to date on all her shots, crate and house trained, and very healthy. She responds well to CBD… and belly rubs. She weighs 27lbs and is 17” at the shoulder. We have to believe that Olive’s forever home exists out there, a person that will give her a lot of love like we have. While it hurts our heart to be giving her away, we know it is the best decision for our growing family. Please share with your networks ♥️
