Man Burglarizes Homes Of 2 College Students, Police Say HAMDEN, CT — A Bridgeport man is accused of burglarizing the homes of two female college students late Tuesday night in Hamden, according to police. Adiel Viana-Ribeiro, 24, was arrested after a chase that ended on Interstate-84 near Exit 16, according to police. Det. Sean J. Dolan said an investigation found that Viana-Ribeiro delivers food and drives passengers for app-based service companies. He specifically targeted houses where he previously made deliveries to women, according to Dolan. Police responded to a Kimberly Road home around 11:30 p.m. on the report of an attempted burglary. "A female college student was in her house when someone attempted to forcibly break into the residence through a window," Dolan wrote in a news release. "The suspect fled on foot after the student shined a flashlight toward the window. The suspect never gained access into the residence." Police soon responded to a nearby residence on West Woods Road for a similar complaint, according to Dolan. A female college student told police that a suspect entered an unlocked back door while she was sleeping, according to Dolan. She was awoken by the person standing at the foot of her bed, Dolan said. The suspect, later identified as Viana-Ribeiro, left when she started to yell, according to Dolan. No one was injured in either incident. Hamden police found Viana-Ribeiro's vehicle in the neighborhood and tried to stop him, according to Dolan. He fled from police and was apprehended with assistance from Connecticut State Police on I-84 near Exit 16. Dolan said evidence was found in the vehicle. (Read more at Hamden Patch).
