Updated Nov. 18, 12:38 p.m. ARLINGTON, VA — A child pedestrian who was involved in a late afternoon crash in the Westover area Wednesday was taken to a nearby hospital to be treated for serious injuries, according to a post on the Arlington County Police Department's official Twitter account. Police and fire units responded around 4:09 p.m. for the report of a crash involving an injured pedestrian in the 1500 block of N Longfellow St. The pedestrian, who was identified as a toddler, was found on the sidewalk near the striking vehicle. The victim was taken to the hospital to be treated for serious injuries. Police reported Thursday morning the victim remained in critical but stable condition. Following a preliminary investigation, police determined the pedestrian was riding a scooter when he was hit by a vehicle, which was exiting an alleyway. The pedestrian had been removed from under the vehicle prior to the arrival of public safety personnel. Police ask anyone with information about this incident to contact Detective D.
